Jessica Burko has been a working photographer since 1985 and has exhibited her photographic work in solo and group shows throughout the United States. Burko is originally from Philadelphia and currently lives in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. She holds a BFA in Fine Art Photography from Rhode Island School of Design, and an MFA in Imaging Arts and Science from Rochester Institute of Technology.

In addition to being a working artist, Burko is an independent curator, and the Executive Director of Boston Handmade, Recent exhibitions of Burko’s photography based, mixed-media artwork include: New England Bio Labs, Ipswich, MA; Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, Boston, MA; Fidelity All Media Juried Exhibition, Providence Art Club, Providence, RI. A mixed-media piece titled, Underground, has recently been published on the cover of Canadian writer Jenni Samprisi’s novel, iswas and art by Jessica Burko can be seen on the set of Ben Affleck’s 2010 film, The Town.
